The 2018 Audi A5 and S5 Sport Coupes were revealed earlier in Europe, with no details about the engine specification and other markets. Now, the automaker has put up the 2018 Audi A5 and S5 models on display at the 2016 LA Auto Show and has also unveiled the specs for the US market.
The 2018 Audi A5 carries a 2.0 TFSI turbocharged four-cylinder, yielding 252-horsepower and 273 lb-ft(370 Nm) of torque. The engine can be paired to either a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission or a six-speed manual gearbox. With this powertrain, the 2018 A5 will be capable of going from 0 to 60 mph in just 5.7 seconds.
On the other hand, the 2018 S5 Coupe is equipped with a new 3.0 liter turbocharged V6 unit mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox and generating up to 354 horsepower and 369 lb-ft (500 Nm) of torque. It is capable of sprinting from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.4 seconds.
Moreover, both models also feature new safety facilities including active lane assist, side assist cross traffic alert and traffic sign recognition system.
