If you are looking to buy an affordable car in the US next year, the 2021 Chevrolet Spark should fit in your budget. The small hatchback will be available for under $15,000, which makes it the cheapest car in the US.
The Golden Bow Tie brand has priced it at $14,395 (with destination fee), undercutting the Mitsubishi Mirage, which was the cheapest car in the US previously. For 2021 MY, the Japanese automaker has increased the price of the Mirage to $15,565.
Other subcompact hatchbacks in the US market start at a relatively higher price. The 2021 Nissan Versa is available for $15,855, the 2021 Hyundai Accent costs $16,390, while the 2020 Kia Rio starts at $16,815. All these prices are for the manual versions.
The auto variants are obviously costlier. The Spark automatic comes with a price tag of $15,495 while the Mirage ES CVT is accessible for $16,590.
The price analysis here is made available by CarsDirect. Notably, the Spark is the least favorable used car in the market during the Covid-19 pandemic. Will the low pricing makes it more attractive to buyers, only time can tell?
The subcompact cars aren’t selling well anywhere in the US and this is the reason Yaris, Fit, and Sonic all have been discontinued.
Here in the UAE, we didn’t get the pricing of the 2021 Chevrolet Spark, however, we can tell you that the 2020 model starts at AED 37,000 here.
