The 2021 Ford Bronco Sport is a smaller, affordable version of the Bronco that competes against the Jeep Cherokee and Compass.
It is built on the improved platform from the Ford Escape featuring independent front and rear suspensions compared to its bigger sibling’s solid rear axle. Ford will offer it in 5 trim levels namely Base, Big Bend, Outer Banks, Badlands, and First Edition. The First Edition is limited to only 2,000 examples. The top-of-the-line trims are more off-road capable featuring hydraulic rebound stops on the front struts, big 46-millimeter-diameter monotube rear shocks, and softer springs and anti-roll bars.
The 2021 Ford Bronco Sport will give buyers two engine options including a 181-horsepower 1.5-liter turbo-3 and a 245-hp turbo-4, both assisted by an 8-speed automatic transmission. The terrain management system, called G.O.A.T. for Goes Over Any Terrain, offers Normal, Eco, Sport, Slippery, and Sand modes. The Badlands and the First Edition will also come equipped with Mud/Ruts and Rock Crawl modes.
Ford is offering over 100 accessories for the Bronco Sport as well as exclusive packages for camping, bikes, snow, and water enthusiasts. Inside, it has an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, leather upholstery, navigation, and Bang & Olufsen audio.
Making safety its utmost priority, Ford is offering CoPilot-360 as standard equipment for the off-roader. We are talking about innovative safety functions like forward-collision warnings with pedestrian detection and automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitors with cross-traffic alerts, active lane control, automatic high beams, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, evasive steering assist, speed limit recognition, and intelligent adaptive cruise control.
The 2021 Ford Bronco Sport starts at $28,155. The prices of other trims are:
- Ford Bronco Sport Big Bend: $29,655
- Ford Bronco Sport Outer Banks: $33,655
- Ford Bronco Sport Badlands: $34,155
- Ford Bronco Sport First Edition: $39,995
Interested customers can book their 2021 Ford Bronco Sport for $100, however, they can’t have the First Edition; it is already sold out.
