The 2021 Hyundai Veloster N will be hitting the American roads soon featuring an eight-speed wet dual-clutch transmission (DCT). An excellent option for customers who are not satisfied with the six-speed manual, the DCT has many advantages over its manual counterpart. We are talking about rev-matching, launch control function, and the N Power Shift mode that triggers when the driver pushes the throttle hard (going over 90%).
The 2021 Hyundai Veloster N can hit 96 km/h from standstill in only 5.6 seconds compared to the 5.8 secs it does with the manual.
To create an extra oomph, the N Grin Shift mode increases the torque yield to 377 Newton-meters for 20 seconds instead of the standard 353 Nm.
The hot hatch boasts steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters as well as allows drivers to retract on the gearshift to escalate the gears.
New to the 2021 Hyundai Veloster N are the latest standard sport seats that are 2 kilograms lighter than the outgoing model, in addition to, standard Performance Package (previously it was optional). It means the new Veloster N now has 275 horsepower (205 kW) on tap. The automaker has also installed 19-inch wheels, bigger brakes, and an electronically controlled limited-slip differential.
Standard features inside comprise of eight-inch infotainment display and a set of driver assistance systems such as forward collision-avoidance assist, lane following assist, lane keeping assist, driver attention warning, blind spot collision-avoidance assist, and rear cross-traffic collision warning.
Prices for the DCT equipped Veloster N models are not revealed yet. We also do not know when it will be available in the UAE. Stay tuned for updates!
