Ford has expanded its truck range by introducing the new 2019 Ford Ranger Raptor at an event in Bangkok, Thailand. The American company has not confirmed when and if the Raptor Ranger will hit the assembly line in Ford’s Michigan factory in the US, however, they did confirm the new pickup truck will be on sale in Australia and other Asia Pacific countries in 2018.
Giving life to the truck is a 2.0-liter twin turbo inline-four diesel powered engine. The powertrain churns out 210 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque which is channeled through a 10-speed automatic transmission powering all the wheels.
The exterior design of the pickup truck resembles its younger sibling, the F-150 Raptor. The black grill, wide fenders, and the massive BF Goodrich tires are hard to miss. Developed in Australia, the 2019 Ford Ranger Raptor includes a Watts Link rear suspension, Fox racing shock absorbers, improved brakes and 13-inch ventilated steel discs.
An increased ground clearance of 11 inches gives the truck an approach angle of 32.5 degrees, a ramp-over angle of 24 degrees, as well as a departure angle of 24 degrees. Conjoined with the special underbody protection, the Ranger Raptor will cruise over any off-road hindrances.
It is possible that Ford will introduce a petrol-based engine for the US market, but everything is off the table until the pickup truck is formally announced for the USA.
