The German tuner Manhart has once again tuned the new Toyota Supra and this time they are able to create a more powerful version. Called Manhart GR 550, it creates 550 PS as the name suggests and features some cosmetic changes, as well.
Manhart has tuned the 3.0-Litre Twin-Power Turbo inline-six to create 550 PS (542 hp or 399 kilowatts) and up to 770 Newton-meters (568 pound-feet) of torque. This is a huge power bump over the stock Supra (340 HP & 500 Nm), which can hit 96 km/h in 3.9 seconds.
Although the tuner didn’t reveal the performance specs, we can tell that the tuned Supra will be able to at least hit the same speed in mid three seconds.
So, what did the tuning company changed to boost the performance of the two-seat sports car? Manhart added a new turbocharger as well as improved piping, a carbon intake, a new downpipe, a new radiator, and an updated stainless steel exhaust system. Controlling all these is a Manhart ECU tune along with an updated suspension with three-way coilovers. The MANHART Lowering Springs by H&R is optional.
Talking about the visual tweaks, the Manhart GR 550 boasts a Manhart graphics package that makes its stand apart in the crowd.
As far as pricing is concerned, the tuner didn’t reveal it yet. However, they did request buyers interested in the supercar-spec Supra to register with them for more details.
