The new BMW Z4 has made its official debut at the 2018 Paris Motor Show sporting the San Francisco Red paint. It was previously showcased at the Pebbles Beach California. With the third generation of Z4, BMW has finally overcome its shortcoming regarding the design. The new Z4 does provide a sporty feel and is actually smaller and tighter than what we were expecting of it after seeing the pictures.
The BMW Z4 roadster will be available in three variants namely BMW Z4 M40i, BMW Z4 sDrive30i, and BMW Z4 sDrive20i. The one present at the show had a 3.0-liter six-cylinder in-line engine rated at 382 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. With this power, the M40i Roadster can hit 60 mph in just 4.4 seconds. There are three driving modes including COMFORT, SPORT and SPORT+.
On the outside, we see LED headlights, large BMW kidney grille, wide bonnet, large air breathers, rear spoiler, and rear LED lights and diffuser. On the inside, it offers modern connectivity features thanks to BMW Operating System 7.0.
The standard driver assistance systems include Collision and Pedestrian Warning with City Braking and Lane Departure Warning. The optional facilities comprise of Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go function, traffic sign recognition, distance information, Lane Change Warning system, Rear Collision Prevention and Cross-Traffic Alert, Active Park Distance Control, rearview camera, Parking Assistant with automated longitudinal and lateral vehicle guidance, and Reversing Assistant.
The new BMW Z4 will hit US markets in March 2019. We are not sure yet when it will arrive in the UAE. The 2018 Z4 starts at AED 200,000
