We have long been waiting for the electric RAM pickup truck, and it finally arrives at the CES 2023. It is not the production model rather is a concept vehicle named RAM 1500 Revolution.
The battery-electric pickup truck comes with two motors (one each at the front and back), four-wheel steering, and an 800-Volt DC system. RAM says the battery can regain 100 miles worth of juice in about 10 minutes.
The EV will be built on the Stellantis STLA platform with a body-on-frame design. The truck will stand on 24-inch wheels with well-lit RAM center caps that can be upgraded to 35-inch tires for off-roading.
If you have seen the Chevrolet Silverado EV, you might find some similarities here. However, RAM’s EV has its own features, such as a powered mid-gate after the second row, as well as, a pass-through to the frunk. It offers around 18 feet of room to carry long things.
Some of the clever engineering techniques bring extra four inches of legroom contrasted to present vehicles, a room behind the second row for a couple of third-row jumps seats, RAM Track, and an electro-chromatic glass roof.
The Ram 1500 Revolution Concept’s cabin is tech-oriented with a big, configurable center display (consisting of two screens), a collapsable steering wheel, an augmented reality heads-up display, and modern AI-enabled amenities.
Passengers will be able to use voice controls, intelligent trip arrangements, and a distinctive cabin mode that will robotically alter seat location, lighting, sound, and other affairs with just one click. Other unique features include big digital side-view mirrors, panoramic rear view, shadow mode, and Level 3 self-driving capability.
For the overall design, RAM says the styling is “bruitful,” which is a combination of brutal and beautiful. “The Ram Revolution represents several important things to the Ram brand,” says Ram CEO Mike Koval. “Of course, it’s our new Ram 1500 Revolution BEV Concept that serves as a roadmap to our electrified future. Yet Ram Revolution is also our philosophy as we redefine the pickup segment, with a steady drumbeat of announcements and initiatives as we embark on our electrified journey.”
We do not know yet whether this concept will go into production or not. More details will be available soon, with the production of RAM electric trucks anticipated for 2024.
