2021 Nissan Maxima Is More Expensive Than its Predecessor

The 2021 Nissan Maxima got more expensive owing to shuffles in the range lineup. Nissan ditched the entry-level S model and now the range starts with the SV, which sells at $36,990. It is $2,540 more expensive compared to the 2020 Maxima S.

The S variant was equipped with a 3.5L V6 engine generating 300-horsepower and a range of driver-assist and safety systems. The same stuff is available with the SV and other trims as well. The Nissan Safety Shield 360 is also there featuring everything automatic emergency braking to blind-spot monitoring and lane-departure warning.

Moreover, the Maxima SL model is also abandoned, so customers can only pick from the SV, SR, and Platinum. All these trims are more expensive than the 2020 models; the SR is $500 costlier and the Platinum is $380 more expensive.

For the Platinum model, Nissan is using the 40th Anniversary Edition package, which adds another $2,125 to the price. The package includes a two-tone Ruby Slate Gray Pearl exterior finish with a black roof, loads of black decorations, red leather seats with contrast stitching, white-faced gauges, dark chrome trim, heated rear seats, and 40th Anniversary badging.

The 2021 Nissan Maxima is available at the US dealerships. No word, when it will reach here. For reference, the 2020 Maxima starts at AED 141,500.
