Mugen ZR-V Concept And Civic Type R Are Ready For TAS

The Japanese tuner Mugen is readying a modified version of the new Honda Civic Type R for the upcoming Tokyo Auto Salon. While we do not have any image of the hot hatchback yet, the company has released images of another modified vehicle they will bring to the show. It is the customised Honda ZR-V (HR-V in the UAE and some other parts of the world).

The JDM-spec ZRV comes with a turbo 1.5-litre petrol mill in the standard form. However, the modified ZR-V Concept uses a 2.0-litre hybrid powertrain. The cosmetic changes include a quad exhaust system, an unusual tailgate-fitted spoiler next to the Honda emblem as well as black decals stretching across the lowest part of the doors and tailgate.

Besides, the Mugen ZR-V Concept boasts black parts at the edges of the rear bumper in addition to the roof spoiler. The side skirts are heavier than the standard model and the front grille and bumper have been updated to give the crossover a sportier appearance. In addition, Mugen has installed unique wheels and black side mirror caps with aero fins.

We can also see the blue Honda emblem and e:HEV logo at the bottom-right edge of the tailgate, which means it is the hybrid model. This crossover will join the customized Civic Type R and two race cars that raced in the Japan Super Formula Championship 2022.

The Tokyo Auto Salon is a SEMA-like show that will commence on January 13. The three-day show will be held at the Makuhari Messe convention centre in Chiba – the capital metropolis of Chiba Prefecture.

Apart from the Mugen Civic Type R, car enthusiasts are also waiting anxiously to get a glimpse of the Nismo-made Fairlady Z Customized Edition.
